lool, & u hava a point there! yeah we lack in "courage" to express ourselves (btw, i'm one of those anti-socials! or maybe not) so i'll try to break the ice & talk about sumthin'...
but u know? it's a bit scary to be fully free :D

anyway, i'm gonna give it a try & open a topic about... about music :D lool, as for me, i like some variety. hits of the 80's, punk-rock, alternative-rock, hard-rock, RnB, metal & techno... sometimes clasics & orchestras :D
kinda strange huh? not to many listen to rock or metal.. thanx to media i feel surounded by RAP & Hip-Hop! duno but i feel all these like gangesters n outlaws! all talkin' about crimes or death! (!@#$%)
well, they say music heals the soul, & i say music set us free :D anyway, that's y music is somehow important to me... to set me free from the real world & it's madness so i can fly up up up in the sky! tha's how music makes me feel. (^_^)

Well, it's true as you said expressing yourself needs a lot of courage in the first place. If you're not willing to open up then no one can force you to talk. In fact, no one can just read your mind and speak instead of you. It all starts with your own will to speak up and share your deep thoughts so you can give yourself a chance to communicate your feelings on one hand, and let others learn from your experiences on the other.
MUSIC! Why do u find your interest in different kinds of music strange dude! Well, what if i tell you that i like listening to classic and slow music and METALLICA at the same time ... uhh! that'll be strange enough!
Know what? I guess picking the "genre" of music depends on your mood. It has nothing to do with what you hate or like. Sure, you can have your own favorite genre that's your all-time kinda music, but at the same time u gotta explore other genres! :) There are no rules in art anyway! :) wala eh?

the problem is people don't like what they don't know or understand and deals with it as if they are dealing with a monster or a freak... :@
some are not willing to share, over-protective. Fear to hurt thier feelings... don't know what wrong with them anyway!!

anyway that's not what i want to talk about... problems and stuff... i wanna talk about good things, useful things... hobbies, stuff like that :)
explorin' other genres? that's what i constanly do... maybe something i don't like now i like it later... like Oldies and Metal and how i ever started liesting to them... now i'm a big fan! :D too bad i'm out of genres! any ideas? anything new??
HardRock is about anger, rage. Metal is about revoloting, being different. Unlike clasics, it's about harmony any calmness. Pop is the one thing i don't get what it's about. mostly happy people & i dunno happy about what LOL! but it's cool... i may find a metal song more romantic than a slow one! so it all depends on the mood and there is no rule. what i said erlier is just a "personal openion" about what i see common in a genre. slow music most likely makes me sleep :( but some i can't miss a note or a second of it.
it's just some people communicate with the world with music, drawings, pictures, or writing something :D it's just a way to express yourself with a pen or a brush, the point is to let the ideas flow
anyone can do anything if they only have the will and the right chance :D

I don't have any ideas about "new genres" actually cuz as u see now there's this mix of all genres together .. so u just wait for a good song and that's it :D These days i just LOVE listening to 3 main songs: Rihanna's Umbrella, Evanescence's Imaginary, and Mika's Take it easy. :D
Ummm, so should i start a revolutionary, courageous, new subject? ARE U READY? :D

and now i'm into old disco and dance music (Modern talking, Duran Duran, Bonny M), some DJs (Tiesto), loool my all time favorite Yanni! :D
maybe some nu-metal (System of A Down, they r freakin' hilarious lool, LP r the best band of my generation :D )

I am really happy that I saw this blog to express myself..I see that you are talking about music..does anyone here listen to progressive music?it's a genre of music that mixes modern poetry with music and it's always about life,with all it's aspects..I listen to it because I feel that it frees me and makes my soul surrender to the beat,leaving my mind wander with my imagination to the unknown along with the song..
it makes me feel alive and it reminds me of my goals in life and my duty in this world..it makes me feel unique and pushes me to the right path..it helps me find peace and tranquility within me...it's my sanctuary...
